A interesting tour that covered 1,640 miles from Caen to Bilbao, across France through the Loire Valley towards Mosnes and St Etienne on the banks of the Dordogne and a few days respite in Dax. From Dax to Bilbao across the Col de Ispeguy and then a tour of Western Spain and eventually back to Bilbao to take the ferry home!. 

The tour was incident-enabled with failed cylinder head gaskets, jammed windows, police encounters and electrical gremlins to keep the mechanically inclined on their toes!

Pyrenees, France

Routes have been plotted and we are currently reserving rooms with selected hotels and Spanish Paradors. We intend to make a group booking on the ferries. We will be heading all the way south in France through the Pyrenees to northern Spain. Those of us joining the tour from the UK will take the 5 May overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Caen and drive south to Pau stopping overnight on the Loire and the Dordogne and then a rest day in Pau. Our Carmino Giulietta continues across the Pyrenees to Bilbao for more fabulous touring in northern Spain. After a day exploring in Bilbao we drive across the Picos d’Europa to Leon and onwards to Santiago de Compostela. We return via Ferrol and Ribadeo along the north Atlantic coast to Bilbao for the 16 May ferry to Portsmouth arriving late afternoon on 17 May.
