UK Auto Italia Day, Brooklands, May 2019

Fourteen Giuliettas were on show at the historic Brooklands venue on Saturday 4 May. A great range of models including two beautiful 750 Sprints brought by Kevin Rawson, Don Jordan’s recently restored 750 Spider, and Hugo Moss’s exquisite Giulia SS. REgister Stalwart Paul Gregory left his Sprint at home to bring his spectacular 8C 2300, doing demonstration runs on the Mercedes Benz test track alongside the Brooklands Museum, real vintage motor car looks and sound amongst all the circling moderns.

Derbyshire was Damp this Autumn Tour

Come rain or shine we were determined to enjoy the wonderful roads and magnificent scenery that Derbyshire offers even in mid-October. Lunch at the on-site Red Lion pub and a tour of the National Tramway Museum at Crich on Friday 12th kicked off our long weekend. Stalwarts of our Autumn trips welcomed new comers and their lovely white Giulia Spider bought in Italy. Santo’s Farm Hotel at Higham was our was very comfortable base with most congenial and helpful service from all the staff despite our coinciding with a wedding party on the first night and a Diamond wedding celebrations on the second. Rain cleared on Saturday and the wind abated in the afternoon to allow us some magnificent driving to end the day’s happy peregrinations.

Sunday was heavy rain to start and half our number had decided to head for home. The rest pressed intrepidly on to a delightful lunch at the Izaak Walton Hotel before going our separate ways.

Next year we are off to the Lake District.

Spettacolo Sportivo Alfa Romeo Event - The Netherlands 21-27 August 2018

The Giulietta Register UK visited Brugge in Belgium and Bergen op Zoom in The Netherlands on the way to the exciting Spettacolo Sportivo Alfa Romeo event at the Zandvoort Circuit in The Netherlands. Thanks to the event organisers, SCARB, and to all our good friends in the Dutch Alfa Romeo Giulietta Club for such a warm welcome and true hospitality during our visit, especially the wonderful Louwmann Museum tour and our drive together through the beautiful Green Heart of Holland. It was great fun and we look forward to welcoming you all in the UK sometime soon.

Flywheel Festival Finds Favour

The event, held over two days is a wonderful combination of groups of aircraft and car enthusiasts, numbers are not overwhelming, and many dressed in period fashions or military uniforms complete with period picnic accoutrements. It is all quite relaxed with a refreshing lack of the hungry commercialism now to the fore in some other events.
