We left for France on Sunday 22 May numbering 33 in 17 Giuliettas and Giulias. Most of us returned on 1 June. Those that didn’t were not broken down, but still holidaying in France or heading to other places. All of us were very happy that this tour, and the Festival, had finally gone ahead after being cancelled at the last moment two years earlier. In all we covered around 2000 miles of some of the most magnificent driving roads between Calais and Marseilles and back again.

After its cancellation last year, everyone were determined to make the Autumn Tour happen this year and to enjoy each others company no matter what. Old friends reunited and new members warmly welcomed - it was a most enjoyable and successful Autumn Tour despite the farcical no fuel crisis and storms.

The Upper Thames River Valley is a delight of small quaint villages and loads of history. Our one-day jaunt on Sunday 29 August took in just a few of its many gems, affording a pleasant country drive culminating in a convivial garden picnic at Nuffield Place.

Our first ‘live’ meeting of Register members and friends since 2019 was a happy, if cautious, get together with 15 Giulietta and Giulias parked in a corner of the large site of the former air force base that is now Bicester Heritage.
